We're looking for a Carbon Consultant to join our Advisory team.

What you'll be doing

This is a hands-on client-facing role with real autonomy. You'll manage your own portfolio of clients, guiding them through their sustainability and compliance obligations — ESOS, SECR, Carbon Reduction Plans, and more. As ESOS Phase 4 lands in 2026–27, you'll be at the heart of the action.

Day to day, you'll be:

• Leading ESOS Phase 4 reports and conducting energy site audits across the UK
• Building GHG inventories and compliance reports to meet government deadlines
• Collecting, validating, and analysing client energy and emissions data
• Training clients on our carbon reporting platform
• Spotting opportunities to grow accounts into broader sustainability services (TCFD, ESG, lifecycle assessments)

What we're looking for

• A degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Energy, Engineering, or similar
• 3+ years of experience delivering technical client projects in a related environment
• Solid working knowledge of GHG Protocol Scopes 1, 2 & 3
• Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, large datasets)
• A full UK driving licence — you'll be visiting client sites across the UK
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to juggle multiple projects

Bonus points for experience with TCFD, SBTi, CSRD, or energy auditing.

Requirements

Here's what you'll need to do this role well. If you meet the essentials and are keen, we'd encourage you to apply even if you don't tick every desirable.

Essential:

• A degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Energy, Geography, Engineering, or a similar field
• At least 3 years' experience delivering technical client projects in a comparable setting
• Working knowledge of GHG Protocol Scopes 1, 2 and 3
• Strong Excel skills — pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data validation, and handling large datasets
• A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to client sites across the UK for energy audits (own car preferred but not essential)
• The ability to manage several client projects and competing compliance deadlines at once
• Based in or around Oxford, or able to commute reliably to our Oxford office

Nice to have (but not required):

• Experience in carbon accounting, sustainability, or energy consulting
• Familiarity with TCFD/CRFD, SBTi, CSRD, or similar reporting frameworks
• Experience conducting energy audits or site assessments
• Familiarity with carbon reporting or ESG software platforms

You'll need the right to work in the UK.

About Team Enistic

Enistic is a carbon management and sustainability consultancy based in Oxford, founded in 2009. We help UK businesses measure, report and reduce their emissions — combining hands-on consultancy with our own carbon reporting software, which supports compliance with frameworks like SECR and schemes such as ESOS.

Alongside audits and reporting, we run a Sustainability 360 Licence that lets partner companies offer tailored sustainability solutions to their own clients. It means the work here spans a real range of organisations and sustainability challenges.

We're a team of 16, so every contribution is visible and matters. You'll report to the Head of ESG and work closely with colleagues across the business, in a collaborative setup where people genuinely pitch in.
